Complete 1949 German sewing pattern drafting book containing 200+ vintage sewing patterns for late forties fashions for women, men, and children. This immediate post war period is an interesting one, including the slimmer silhouettes necessitated by war rationing, as well as the beginnings of the New Look aesthetic. These styles are to die for - everything from wedding dresses and lingerie to bathing suits and tailored coats. What you see in the listing pictures only scratches the surface!
A special ruler and curve (included) are used along with the miniature templates in the book to create a good range of sizes for each garment. The women's models, for example, can be drafted to fit a bust measurement from 80 - 120 cm (roughly 31.5" - 47.5"), with some models even a little larger.
The book is in German, but instructions in English are included in their own PDF. The system is similar to Lutterloh, The Golden Rule, or Der Golden Schnitt and is very easy to work with. There are also plenty of instructional Youtube videos out there that are helpful for those unfamiliar with the process.
